Role of small and medium enterprises (SME) in women empowerment and poverty alleviation in Punjab, Pakistan

This study investigates the role of small and medium enterprises (SME) in women empowerment poverty alleviation Southern Punjab. The findings showed that education level women, participation SMEs, skills development index, employed persons household, value physical assets, women’s economic, familial, social index adversely significantly influenced while household size family setup positively poverty. In order to alleviate Pakistan specifically Punjab women's labour force must be encouraged, educational facilities for should provided especially rural areas, technical also promoted which will not only empower but open doors employment. Further, transportation improved enhance participation. Credit at low cost may as a key constraint success SMEs is lack capital.
